Chengli Special Automobile Co., Ltd. has released a detailed guide on the operation and maintenance of sewage suction and cleaning trucks. Proper use and regular maintenance not only ensure vehicle safety and performance but also extend service life and reduce maintenance costs.
1. Engine Operation and Maintenance
-
The first maintenance service should be carried out at a service station after driving about 2,000 km or within 2 months. Please refer to the vehicle’s warranty manual for exact maintenance schedules for different models.
-
The running-in period is within the first 5,000 km. During this period, avoid overloading and high-speed engine operation.
-
Regularly inspect engine oil, coolant, brake system, bolts, air pipes, and tires. After the new vehicle has been used for some time, check and tighten all bolts to ensure safety.

2. Vacuum Pump Operation and Maintenance
-
The PTO (Power Take-Off) switch for the water-circulating vacuum pump is located under the dashboard in the cab. Always press the clutch before engaging or disengaging the PTO. Before driving, ensure the PTO switch is turned off.
-
In winter, after parking overnight, drain the water tank and water circulation pump to prevent freezing and damage.
-
The vacuum pressure gauge should read 4–5 units during normal suction. If the pressure rises above 7 units, it indicates a blockage in the suction pipeline. Stop the engine immediately and check the system, as excessive pressure may deform the tank.
-
If the truck cannot suction or discharge, check the inlet pipeline, elbows, and sludge at the tank inlet for possible blockages.
-
During suction, monitor the observation window on the tank to prevent overfilling. If the wastewater level approaches the top, remove the suction hose or turn off the pump immediately to prevent liquid from entering the water circulation pump.
-
If wastewater enters the pump, remove and clean the filter screen and drain the wastewater completely.
-
Frequently inspect the belt tension pulley of the water circulation pump. If the belt becomes loose, adjust it properly.
-
If the suction pressure decreases, check the following:
-
Water level in the water tank
-
Float ball of the anti-overflow valve
-
Check valve at the pump inlet
-
Filter screens of the vacuum and water circulation systems
-
Inlet and bottom outlet of the tank for possible blockages
By following these operating and maintenance instructions, users can ensure safe, efficient, and long-term operation of their sewage suction and cleaning vehicles.
