Isuzu is a Japanese brand. The predecessor of Isuzu Motors is the Tokyo Ishikawa Island Shipyard, which was established in 1916 in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo. In 1922, the A9 sedan was produced; in 1933, the company merged with Da Chi Automobile Company. It mainly produces Isuzu light, medium and heavy commercial trucks with international advanced technology and quality, and six series of diesel and gasoline engines with power from 100-520 horsepower and Qingling’s own brand. Jiangxi Isuzu Motors Co., Ltd. was established in April 2013 as a joint venture between Jiangling Group and Japan’s Isuzu. Both parties have a 50% shareholding ratio. Isuzu (China) Engine Co., Ltd. was founded in 1993. On May 18, 2007, Qingling Motors Co., Ltd. and Isuzu Motors Co., Ltd. jointly established Qingling Isuzu (Chongqing) Engine Co., Ltd. On December 29, 2018, Isuzu Qingling (Chongqing) Auto Parts Co., Ltd. was merged to form a new Qingling Isuzu (Chongqing) Engine Co., Ltd. On January 14, 2020, the company changed its name to Isuzu (China) Engine Co., Ltd., specializing in the production and sales of high-tech, high-quality Isuzu diesel and gasoline engines and core components.
