“Electrophoretic paint is a water-soluble coating, which is pervasive and has no dead ends in anti-corrosion treatment. The product can be used for more than 10 years.” On September 1, he walked into the electrophoresis workshop of Hubei Chengli Group and introduced by Zhang Zilong, director of Chengli Group’s Environmental Management Center.’
This is the first and largest anti rust/ galvanization craft shorkshop in Suizhou, the capital of China special vehicle manufacturer center, which will give more & stronger quality of the special trucks made by Chengli truck group.
What is galvanization craft in special truck production process?
Galvanizing refers to the surface treatment technology that coats a layer of zinc on the surface of metal, alloy or other materials to play the role of beauty and rust prevention. The main method used is hot-dip galvanizing.
Zinc is soluble in acid and alkali, so it is called amphoteric metal. Zinc hardly changes in dry air. In humid air, a dense basic zinc carbonate film is formed on the zinc surface. In the atmosphere containing sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide and marine, the corrosion resistance of zinc is poor, especially in the atmosphere containing organic acid at high temperature and high humidity, the zinc coating is easily corroded. The standard electrode potential of zinc is -0.76V. For the steel substrate, the zinc coating is an anodic coating, which is mainly used to prevent the corrosion of steel, and its protective performance has a great relationship with the thickness of the coating. The protective and decorative properties of zinc coating can be significantly improved after passivation treatment, dyeing or coating with light protectant.
The advantages of galvanizing
The purpose of galvanizing is to create a protective coating of zinc on steel or iron parts. But why is this useful? What are the main advantages of galvanizing?
Blocks Corrosive Substances: The zinc coating on galvanized metal prevents corrosive substances from reaching the weaker underlying substrate metal. This extends the life of the substrate, especially in demanding applications.
Rust Prevention: Galvanizing significantly delays rusting.
Creating a sacrificial anode: The zinc coating is consumed by corrosive substances, so it provides protection to the metal below until it is completely used up. Even if scratches penetrate the coating, the zinc will run out before the iron.
Durable: The zinc coating formed by galvanizing is tough and long-lasting, often providing decades of protection to the underlying metal.
Affordable: Galvanizing is a fairly simple and affordable procedure that offers significant benefits with minimal outlay.
Forms Thick Coatings: Although not suitable for all applications, galvanizing produces thicker coatings than electroplating etc.
